As we kick off another summer at the lake, we look forward to the days ahead and treasure the memories of seasons past. We are so fortunate to enjoy the beauty of the lake and the company of friends and family.
We have begun organizing the 20th Annual Firecracker 5K Fundraiser. The recipients of the following scholarships have been selected by a committee of your Deerfield Community.
Because of your generosity and race support, the Firecracker 5k at Deerfield Committee will be giving one $15,000.00 scholarship to a very deserving young senior. Shakira Goins met all of our scholastic achievement and community involvement requirements. But, more importantly – she met our need requirements. The $3750.00 she will receive for four years is essential to her realization of higher education goals to be a veterinarian attending LMU.
We are providing three $5,000.00 scholarships to Peyton Carroll, Reagan Davis and Kayanna Deardorff. Peyton is attending MIT, Reagan will be attending ETSU and Kayanna is attending Tennessee Tech and Eckerd College. Payments are made directly to the University and will be drawn down by student need over their term at the school.
We are also providing two $500.00 scholarships to Gabrial Martin and Jordan Crisp. Payment will be paid directly to the school they will attend.
In addition, the Committee has decided to make a gift of $3000.00 to TCAT – Tennessee College of Technology. We are requesting the money be distributed based upon need for uniforms, books, tools, or medical instruments, as requested by students. We particularly like this program because it serves high school Co-op students as well as adults returning to technical school. Supporting this program serves our community.
The Firecracker 5K at Deerfield will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2026. All participants MUST BE registered in advance of July 3, 2026. Online race registration and donations at: www.totalracesolutions.com .
We are seeking sponsors willing to donate to this worthwhile cause. All sponsors will be recognized on our website, at the event, as well as on the back of our official Firecracker 5K t-shirts. The categories are: $100.00 sparklers, $200 Bottle Rockets, $500.00 Mortars, $1,000 Grand Finale, and 1001.00 and greater Extravaganza level. Firecracker 5K at Deerfield, Inc. is a 501(c)3 - non profit organization. We will recognize donors at these levels by placing your name on our T-shirts.
